Babysitting & Disability Awareness Workshop - Medfield SEPAC
This 3- session workshop builds confidence, skills, and understanding as you learn how to support children with a wide range of disabilities and other conditions. This workshop is designed for new and experienced babysitters who want to provide safe, inclusive, and informed care for children with disabilities.
* This workshop is a learning opportunity but is not a certificate program.
** Completion of the B.L.A.S.T. Babysitting program is required for registration.
In This Workshop, You Will Learn:
- The history and principles of the disability rights movement — and why it matters in childcare.
- Practical strategies for babysitting children with autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, allergies, diabetes, and other conditions
- How to create a strong, professional babysitting profile
- Ways to spread awareness and promote inclusion in your community
- Opportunities to connect with local families who have children with disabilities
- Empower yourself with tools and knowledge to make a positive impact!

Meet the Sitters Open House:
Children with disabilities along with their families are invited to meet with the babysitters who have completed this 3-session workshop. The lightly structured social event will provide an opportunity for play as well as a chance to exchange contact information or schedule future meetings with the babysitters. This is a free event. Pre-Registration is required.
